About Us
Ninja, the black clad warrior of feudal Japan, has been feared, misunderstood, and respected for hundreds of years. For centuries, the secrets of the mysterious fighting art of the ninja have been discovered, coveted, suppressed, hidden, lost, recovered, and stolen. The legend of the ninja originates from the mist covered mountains of Iga and like the movies the ninja lived like a dark mystery amongst the very stoic samurai class.
But this is where the movies accuracy ends. The ninja may have at times done things devise and underhanded. Some, very famous ninja were in fact assassins. But unlike the movies, the birth of the ninja was about esoteric disciplines, being that the origins come to us from the Yamabushi, the mountain priests of Iga.
Classes are traditionally taught in the evenings. If you have had no prior martial arts training, we begin with basic skills and start to build from there. In addition to the basic hand and foot skills, we teach the use of 18 different weapons. Experienced martial arts practitioners will quickly recognize the efficiency of the art. The emphasis is on survival and the ability to defend yourself and your loved ones. This is an original combat art, not a watered down sports version. These techniques have survived because they work.
Classes are open to anyone over the age of 19. Dues are $125 per month, with no contracts.
Our instructor has been training in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu for 16 years under 13th dan Shihan Ron Blackwood, and is a 7th degree black belt (Nanadan), and holds a Shidoshi (Instructor) license issued by Grandmaster Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi.
